GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY- The last of 6 million tires at a Columbia County property will be cleaned up.

The Department of Environmental Protection awarded the contract to Entech, Inc. The tires have been a problem and eyesore for decades at the Starr Tire in Greenwood Township. A massive fire last year added to the problems.

Entech is a Michigan company that will shred the tires for re-use. The project will begin in July and wrap up by September.
