WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Frank Pizzella, the president of the Wilkes-Barre Area school board, pleaded not guilty to a conspiracy charge. Pizzella vows to fight that charge in court..
Pizzella was indicted in September. The FBI said he passed along bribe of $5,000 in 2004 to help a teacher get a job in the Wilkes-Barre area school district. He was not even on the school board at the time but was able to use his connections to get the person the job.
Friday Pizzella read a statement thanking people for their support and insists he looks forward to his day in court. He faces 5 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. | |
