SHENANDOAH, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY -- A security guard has been arrested after police say he threatened to create another "Virginia Tech situation."

Carlos Cintron of Shenandoah is locked up on charges of making terroristic threats. Police say Cintron was referring to the 2007 massacre that killed 32 people at Virginia Tech.

Court papers details the threat. Shenandoah Valley Schools security guard apparently wrote: ÒI request time off to slit the throat of the current principal and there will be another Virginia Tech situation.Ó

Police say Cintron wrote that note and left it at his security station. The school janitor found it and Cintron was arrested Monday.

Parents in the school district are relieved. "I was concerned at first when my daughter came home and told me but the security that came it was just very well taken care of," says Janet, whoÕs daughter is a high school student.

Police haven't confirmed why Cintron wrote the threatening note. He worked for Anthracite Protective Services, based out of Minersville and was fired Thursday night.

Anthracite Deputy Chief Paul Kennedy says Cintron passed all background checks when he was hired in August.

Kennedy says the reacted company quickly on Thursday. "All top level administration was in this office within 20 minutes of this phone call. We immediately dispatched extra security officers armed and unarmed," said Kennedy.

When police found out about this threat they arrived at the school and escorted sports teams from their practice fields and courts away from the school.

Cintron, who refers to himself as "The Punisher" in the notes, is locked up in the Schuylkill County jail on $50,000 bail.
