SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Scranton City Council is firing back at the mayor after a lawsuit didn't go their way.

Council member Pat Rogan said, "A lot of people say council lost, but it's the people that lost."

Unhappy council members used Tuesday night's meeting as a platform for some payback.

A judge ruled in Mayor Chris Doherty's favor in a dispute over the city's spending plan. Council will not be allowed to re-open the budget and make additional cuts.

Council members say they plan to propose similar cuts in next year's budget.
