SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Scranton City Council approved a controversial tax break plan that could mean 1,000 new jobs by next year.
On a 3-2 vote, council approved a tax break extension for the Mount Pleasant Corporate Center. The city is trying to lure new businesses there, hoping to attract jobs.
Six other similar plans were approved, but 14 others were denied. Some homeowners are not happy. They say they want everyone including businesses to pay their fair share. | |
