SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Scranton has dedicated a new public park.

Located on Orchard Street the new facility has been named in honor of former mayor Jimmy Connors who attended the dedication ceremonies.

The park was constructed on land which formally housed an old Post Office building. That vacant facility was demolished earlier this year as part of a program to beautify sections of South Scranton.
