SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - The Diocese of Scranton released a preliminary parish restructuring plan. If adopted by Bishop Joseph Martino as is, close to half of all churches in the diocese would cease to exist.

The Diocesan Planning Commission today released the 100-page document focusing on the 11-county Diocese. Some of the consolidated churches would serve as secondary worship sites at least temporarily. The Diocese will make its final decisions in January. A complete list of the preliminary can be found on the Diocese's website.
