Scranton Express Rides to Washington for Inauguration - Monday, January 19, 2009 at 9:30PM EST

WASHINGTON, DC- Our nation's historic Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama is less than a day away and many people from this area are in Washington, D. C. for all the pomp and circumstance.

100 people rode into Washington on the “Scranton Express,” a six-car train excursion that started in Philadelphia this weekend.

Former Scranton Mayor Jim McNulty organized the trip to witness history in the making. "We coalesced the Scranton power, not only are we a political city of a swing state, now we are a politically powerful city of a politically powerful state," he said.

NBC News will bring you extensive coverage of Tuesday’s inauguration beginning with the Today show at 7:00 A. M. and continuing until 5:00 P. M. If you you’re away from the TV, get a complete wrap-up of the festivities on Eyewitness News beginning at 5:00 P. M.
