SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- An early morning garage fire in Scranton's south side is a case of arson.
Fire broke out around 4:00 Wednesday morning on Gallagher Courtnear East Locust Street. Firefighters found a garage in flames, and it quickly spread to a nearby car and home.
Neighbors were concerned an elderly woman who lived at the home was trapped inside. Fortunately she moved out about a month ago to live with relatives.
Chief Tom Davis of the Scranton Fire Department said, "Relatives called and neighbors said the lady's been out of the house for a few months. Nobody's in the building and everyone is fine."
The house and garage sustained extensive fire damage. | | |
