One home was destroyed and another damaged after a fire in Scranton .

The fire started after 3 a. m. Wednesday morning on Durkin Ave. near the intersection with Kennedy St .

The Fire Chief says the house where the flames started has been vacant for a couple of months.

That home is destroyed.

A vacant home next door has smoke and water damage.

A fire fighter suffered a minor injury.

Investigators are on the scene.
