SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Scranton police are trying to piece together exactly what happened in a late-night shooting. We know that police haven't caught the two men behind the gunfire that injured one man.

Eyewitness News found police gathering evidence at the scene shortly after the shooting. It happened just before midnight at a West Locust Street home near the intersection with Parrot Avenue.

Police say the victim and his girlfriend came home to find two men already inside their apartment. The intruders had tied up a 37-year-old Newark, New Jersey man who's either the victim's friend or brother and pistol whipped him.

Police say the man who lives there was shot in the arm. His 28-year-old girlfriend was unhurt. The victim was taken to a Scranton hospital for treatment.

He claims he doesn't know the intruders. Eyewitness News asked if police believe that and all they would say is they are still investigating all of the evidence.

Police provided us a description of one of the suspects. It's a black man, about 5Õ9Ó tall and 115 pounds. He was wearing a black tee-shirt, blue jeans and a black cap.

Anyone with information on the case should call Scranton police at 348-4134.

So far, Scranton police are not releasing the names of the man who was shot, his girlfriend or the man who was tied up

We do know shooting victim was treated and released.
