LACKAWANNA CO. - Ltc. A. Joseph Albert Ret., the Commander of the Koch-Conley American Legion Post #121 Scranton , will be among those giving remarks today at the post's annual veterans day program.
It gets underway Wed. morning at 10:30 at the City of Scranton Showmobile on N. Washington Ave. in front of the Lackawanna Co. Courthouse.
The university of Scranton ROTC Corps will post colors.
Post Chaplin Bill Young will give the invocation.
Main speakers include Scranton native and U. S. Senator Bob Casey, Lackawanna County Court Judge Tom Munley, a bronze star recipient from the Vietnam war, and Monsignor Constantine Siconolfi, the recently retired founder and director of St. Francis of Assisi food kitchen in Scranton.
Mayor Chris Doherty will also offer remarks.
Paulette Costa will sing the national anthem.
The firing squad from the Northeastern Pennsylvania detachment Marine Corps League will offer honors.
Various local veterans' posts will also present wreaths in honor of veterans day. | |
