SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A Scranton man, 43-year-old Ronald Clark, will face trial on charges he attacked his girlfriend and her 5-year-old son with a baseball bat.

Clark initially asked for a preliminary hearing but charged his mind just before the proceedings were to start. The charges were then bound over to court.

The charges stem from an incident on May 6th at the home the couple shared on Boulevard Avenue in Scranton. 36-year-old Lea Portonova was treated at a hospital emergency room after the attack.

Poliec said that Clark fled the area. He surrendered to police in Carbon County nearly a week after the attack.
