SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- Police in Scranton are trying to locate a man they say assaulted a woman and her 5-year-old son with a baseball bat.
The incident took place in the home of Leah Portonova on Boulevard Avenue around 2:00 A. M. Tuesday. Officers say Ronald Clark, her live-in boyfriend, attacked her and her son.
The woman managed said Clark made her drive to an ATM and withdraw money for him. She was able to get away and started looking for help. Ms. Portonova came across a Throop Police officer who was responding to an unrelated call.
Officer Bill Hazelton said the woman was all bloody when she got out of the car. He and a fellow officer placed her in an ambulance that was already on the scene then sent another unit to the house on Boulevard Avenue in the city.
Both Ms. Portonova and her son were treated and released for the hospital.
