SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The school year may be a few weeks away, but the Scranton School District could be on the verge of a longer vacation.
Teachers voted unanimously on Tuesday to authorize a strike. The big issue is healthcare.
The teachers’ contract expires on August 31 with school getting scheduled to start september 2nd.
Union officials say they want to sit down and talk with the district. They also wants real progress before school starts.
District officials say they're disappointed with the vote, but hope to continue talking with the teacher's union. | | |
