SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

The city of Scranton will celebrate the 4th of July Holiday with a new event called'The Scranhattan Arts Festival."

The festival will feature live theater, music, a juried art show, dancers, and a series of locally produced movies.

One of the film features is a short comedy called "Stunt Mayor." It was created by advertising executive Dan Simrell
and features a cast that includes Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty, former mayor Jimmy Connors, and Governor Ed Rendell among others.

Supporters are hoping to make the festival an annual event. They believe it can become a major attraction and bring visitor to Scanton to enjoy the arts and the city itself.
