Two families made it out of a Scranton house fire alive.
This is the second time tragedy has hit them.
Smoke poured out of the West Parker Street home in Scranton more than an hour after it started.
Three young boys, all under the age of five got out safely with other adults living here.
The boys Head Start teachers feared the worst.
Teacher Morgan Warner said, "We were just so concerned about their welfare and so worried. Mike asked, you saw them inside, how's everyone doing? Everyone's doing good, as far as we can see they're doing good."
Two women affected by this fire, Lisa Miller and Crystal Kohut have been through a fire like this before.
Both were living in an Acker Avenue home when it went up in flames back in February, 2007.
That fire killed 3 year old Xander Browning, a brother to two of the boys that made it out safe Wednesday.
Friends and family are counting their blessings that no one was injured in this fire.
North Scranton Head Start teacher Jeany Giehl said, "We're so grateful all these families are out safe, that's the main thing right now and we'll take care from there, whatever they need."
Family member Lindsey Ross talked to the fire victims who didn't want to go on camera.
“Everybody's fine, just shaken up," said Ross.
The Red Cross tells Eyewitness News it's helping the families involved.
As of Wednesday night the Scranton fire department says this fire is undetermined.
The fire marshal was still on scene late Wednesday afternoon. | |
