Scranton police chief suspended

Scranton Police Chief Dave Elliott was suspended one week without pay effective immediately.
The announcement came through Scranton Mayor Chris Doherty Thursday afternoon.
In July, two female officers approached Elliott for overtime approval.
He called them overtime whores.
The officers filed a grievance with the Fraternal Order of Police.
An investigation by Scranton Public Safety Director Ray Hayes determined the allegations were true.
As part of his suspension, Chief Elliott has to attend sensitivity training. | | |
