PITTSTON/HUGHESTOWN, LUZERNE COUNTY- Police are still searching for a suspected murderer, accused in the deadly shooting of a Pittston teenager. Authorities remain tight lipped about what leads they're working on, but late Tuesday afternoon they did execute a search warrant at a Hughestown home.
One person is dead and another injured after police say a black male stormed an apartment on Market street Monday night, before opening fire. The suspected gunman is still on the run, but police are actively pursuing several leads.
A search by land and air came up empty handed for Luzerne County Detectives and Pennsylvania State Police investigating Pittston city's first homicide in more than a decade. It happened around 9:00 Monday night on Market Street.
Then a tip led them to 416 Foote Avenue in Hughestown. State Police brought their K-9 unit and served a search warrant in connection to the shooting investigation. Detectives spoke with a man and younger woman who live here. Neighbors shied away from our cameras. Police won't say how the home is connected to this deadly shooting.
But they are looking for a black man, who authorities say shot 32-year-old Jason Paglianite and 19-year-old John Johnson inside the apartment at 11 Market Street. State Police say Johnson died at the hospital.
Paglianite managed to flee the home and find help at a nearby bar. Detectives believe they may know a motive. Trooper Tom Kelly from PSP-Wyoming stated, "There is possibly a drug connection, but it's too early to tell."
There's no word on the condition of Jason Paglianite.
