EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY- Police are investigating 2 home invasions in the Stroudsburg area in as many nights.

The latest happened early this morning around 2:00 East Stroudsburg. An intruder cut through a window screen and entered a home on Elizabeth Street before making his way into a 14-year-old child's bedroom. The child screamed and the man ran.

Police say it appears the man had been scouting out other homes in the neighborhood. Investigators are trying to determine if this break-in is connected to Tuesday's early-morning home invasion on McKinley Avenue in Stroud Township.

A man gained entry through a living room window and went to a 12-year-old girl’s bedroom and covered her face with her own sweatshirt. She screamed and he fled.

Stroud Area Regional Police urge homeowners to take extra care in securing their homes and to call the headquarters at 421-6800 with any information.
