LUZERNE COUNTY -- The I-Team has confirmed from federal sources that Secret Service agents paid a surprise visit Monday to the home of Eric Coombs, the owner of LRW Solutions.
That company is under investigation for its handling of county records. LRW was hired by Luzerne County in 2005 to handle the storage of county records. It has been paid more than $900,000.
This same probe led to the office of the Clerk of Courts Bob Reilly, who is accused of taking a bribe from a contractor who allegedly did work for LRW. Reilly was charged last month. He insists he did nothing wrong.
Federal investigators say Reilly supervised a special county fund called "The Record Improvement Fund. The feds are now looking into how that fund was handled.
Just last week the Secret Service took county records from several offices in the Luzerne County Courthouse. Those records dealt with the special records fund. | |
