SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - Big changes have come to a school that helps kids with special needs in Lackawanna County.
The Scranton School For The Deaf showed off their improvements Thursday morning.
State Senator Bob Mellow and Representative Ken Smith toured the school.
Among the changes are a new children's village outside and a brand new library inside.
During the tour, Senator Mellow admitted making the school private-run was an unpopular decision.
Sen. Bob Mellow, (D) Lackawanna County said, "I think every now and then we have to make that admission that there are people who can do things better than the state. In this particular regard that's what we found here."
The current school may soon be taken over by Marywood University.
Officials are currently looking for a new home for the Scranton School For The Deaf. | |
