STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY -- Thomas Senavitis, the man involved in the crash that killed State Senator James Rhoades, was sentenced in Monroe County Court this morning.

He was sentenced to time already served and probation. That means he won't be going back to jail. He had already served more than 300 days in prison leading up to his trial in March of this year.

He'll spend two years on probation, pay a fine, lose his license for a year and he'll have to take a traffic safety course.

The 46-year-old Kunkletown man was accused of killing James Rhoades of Mahanoy City in an October 2008 crash. The deadly wreck happened on Route 209 in Gilbert.

Experts testified that Senavitis had a blood-alcohol level nearly 4 times the legal limit. The defense said that it was Rhoades who swerved into Senavitis' lane and caused the crash.
