QUEENS, NEW YORK -- We stopped by a Sesame Street taping here and spent time with Cookie Monster and Chris, from Hooper's Store.

During a taping, there are lots of people, lots of muppets, and lots of fun! There are so many people and camera angles involved, it took a few hours to tape just a few minutes. But Cookie Monster took a break to hang out with us and have a snack.

"Me love chocolate chip. Oh, me could go for chocolate chip cookie," Cookie Monster told Eyewitness News reporter Kyla Campbell, who brought along a mini-cookie, and an extra large goodie. Cookie Monster had the choice of the two. "You know what? Me going to be nice guy, nice monster. You can have the big cookie. Me have little, tiny cookie."

"Cookie Monster is one of my favorites," said Chris Knowings, a Sesame Street cast member who was nominated for an Emmy. "He's just very determined. It's just the best. Love it."

Chris plays Gordon's and Susan's nephew and works in Hooper's Store. He remembers watching Sesame Street years before he had a role here.

"When I was the kid, it was the Count," said Knowings. "Because when I used to get in trouble, my mom was like, 'How many dishes did you break? One, two, three dishes - ah ah ah.'"

Chris says he never takes working on Sesame Street for granted, especially now that it's been running strong for 40 years.

"I like being a part of this family," said Knowings. "It's just a special place, special cast, special crew, and who knows, another 40, another 100, that would be great!"

Cookie Monster keeps it short and sweet.

"It nice place to live."

It's so nice, we hope to visit again.
