SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A Scranton man will spend between 9 and 25 years in prison on child rape and drug charges.
Julio Santiago was sentenced for one count of child rape in addition to charges of possession of drugs and possession of drugs with intent to deliver.
The District Attorney's office says the rape charge stems from Santiago's sexual assault of his girlfriend's 8-year-old daughter for over a year. Santiago entered a guilty plea to assaulting the girl. Investigators say the victim and her sister were both assaulted by Santiago who showed them pornographic videos and pictures.
Santiago was also ruled to be a "Sexually Violent Predator" who will have to register with local law enforcement officers when he is eventually released from prison.
