SHENANDOAH, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- It was a tight fight for crews battling a West Atlantic Street fire in Shenandoah Friday morning.
No one was injured but three houses were badly damaged including Jack Staconis's home. "Where am I going to live?" said Staconis.
Staconis rushed home from work to see smoke pouring out his windows. One couple also came home to find their house in danger of being destroyed and they're family pet in deep trouble. After many tense minutes of searching, the homeowner was able to rescue his cat, A. J.
Liz Killian watched everything from her son’s house across the small street. She's thankful the fire didn't spread more. “It's good that the other companies helped out and we have the manpower during the day because during the day is when it's the tightest, everybody has a day job," said Killian. The cause of the fire wasn’t available Friday afternoon. | |
