COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY - A Monroe County couple woke up to the sound of gun shots being fired into the house.

It happened at 714 Cambell Way in the Pocono Farms East Community of Coolbaugh Township.

People move into developments like Pocono Farms for peace and quiet but they don't always find it. "It's a shame said Courtney Fairbanks who lives in the community.

The Fernadnez family bought the home on Cambell way about four years ago, hoping to escape violence in the city. But they learned there's crime in the Poconos as well.

One neighbor said, "It's scary to think 'cause I actually came up from New York to get away from this lifestyle and to know it's coming up here it's not good."

Agenol Fernandez said he and his wife woke up to the sound of gunfire before five Wednesday morning. At least six shots hit the house and one smashed a van window. Fernandez said he had no idea why anyone would target his family.

This isn't the first time there's been a drive by shooting in this neighborhood. Police investigated one just around the corner last summer."

Some people in the community said they're not sure what they'll do next since the violence they tried to escape followed them to the Poconos.
