DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Six people are behind bars after a drug bust here Saturday morning. One of the alleged dealers is tied to suspected gang members.

The arrests happened at 46 Veterans Drive, which is part of the Lackawanna County Housing area. People living nearby didn't want to go on-camera, but said they're not surprised.

"It's terrible here," said one woman who lives across the street from the apartment, which police say they were keeping an eye on for potential drug activity.

"Anytime we can get a drug dealer off the street, we're very happy with that," said Dunmore Police Chief Pat Reese.

The arrests happened by chance. Police were called after an armed robbery outside an Italian restaurant nearby. The victim told officers the people who took his money fled into the housing area across the street. Officers say people matching the robbery suspects' descriptions through a window at 46 Veterans Drive.

Chief Reese says nobody in the apartment was responsible for the armed robbery. But while they were checking out the place, officers found dozens of baggies of marijuana along with cocaine and heroin, about ten pipes used for smoking crack cocaine, and material for packaging drugs to sell.

Russell Perry lived in the apartment and was arrested. Barbera Future of Scranton was also charged. She's the mother of Tonie and Jeffery Future. Those two are charged with murder and are allegedly tied to the bloods gang. Police aren't saying if she has connections, too.

"I can just tell you that she was in the residence last night along with the drugs and other individuals and she was arrested," added Chief Reese.

The other four people arrested include Thomas Peters of Dickson City, along with Junior Jackson, Ralph Kemper, and Jessica Cruz, who police say are from New York. All six are behind bars in the Lackawanna County prison.
