MONTROSE, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY-The signs of support for Chris Snee are everywhere in downtown Montrose.
At Miss Penny's Diner, a giant sign hangs in honor of the Super Bowl champion.
Penny Hawley is the Owner, Miss Penny's Diner she tells us “Chris is a fantastic guy, not only a professionally great football player and he has respect for everyone no matter who you are."
Snee grew up in Susquehanna Count playing football and basketball in Montrose.
Kids who follow in his footsteps say he's a true hometown hero and they'll be coming out Saturday.
“Its really gonna be crazy.” Says Kevin Burris of Montrose “A lot of people. I'm going to be out there. I go to Elk Lake and everybody's talking about it. Everybody's going to be here."
Giant’s Fan Brenda Loubet of Springville is excited “I've been a Giants fan for my whole life. I was raised a Giant’s fan, so we're excited about it."
The parade will begin Saturday at 4 pm at the Endless Mountain Health System building and end at the Susquehanna County Courthouse.
Organizers are encouraging everyone to line the streets of Montrose and you don't even have to be a Giant’s fan.
The celebration is being organized by the Susquehanna County United Way. Officials say there will be floats and confetti to support a man who gives back to the local community.
“He's really a great supporter of the United Way and he works so well with kids on the field for the punt/pass/kick contest” says Amy Steinberg of the Susquehanna County United Way. | |
