SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY -- For some of us it's a no storm but for others Friday night brought a full-fledged snowstorm. Where the storm hit, it made roads treacherous and caused a day-long cleanup.
Just before 8:00 Saturday night, Nathan Herman from Bowers Landscaping made his last plowing run of the night. He spent all day working in the Selinsgrove and Sunbury areas. "I've been out since 2 a. m. My day's been pretty good though. No problems," he said.
In Selinsgrove there's about 6 or 7 inches on the ground. People are split whether or not they like it.
Cassie Paul of Sunbury said, "I love it. I went sled riding today with Pam and Lou underneath. I don't know. I love it. It's so cold but I love it."
Traffic was moving along fine on Routes 11 and 15. And for many they waited until the nighttime to come out. Amber Hendrickson of Danville said, "I'm not a big fan of the snow. I'm not a fan of the cold anymore. I'm actually moving to North Carolina."
Businesses like the Citgo Short Stop convenience store say the snow didn't stop people from coming in. Sheron Walker said, "It's been pretty good. The Powerball is up high so people are coming in."
But what about even more snow? Would people here want upwards of three feet like they're seeing in the Mid-Atlantic states? "I think if we got 3 feet, it would be a good time. Lots of money," said Herman. | |
