Snyder County Farmhouse Up in Flames

Snyder County Farmhouse Up in Flames - Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 6:08PM EST

Reported by: Jeremy Deebel
Thursday, Jan 7, 2010 @ 06:08pm EST
Penn Township, Snyder County-

Two siblings were seriously injured as an early morning fire destroyed their farmhouse in Snyder County.

Little is left of the home that caught fire just before 1:00 AM.

Siblings Christopher and Jennifer Beaver were able to escape the inferno. Both were taken to regional hospitals for treatment of burns and other injuries.

We’re told several dogs perished in the blaze. A relative said there was no insurance on the property.

Neighbor William Kratzer said, “They were some of the best neighbors that i could ever get. They never created any problems. They kept to their own business and it really just bothers me real much because they were such good people.”

It took dozens of firefighters more than two hours to bring the fire under control.

A state police fire marshal is trying to determine the cause of the blaze. But he says there may be too much damage to ever know for certain what happened.
