STROUD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY- A Monroe County man accused of stabbing his own father will head to trial.

Gerald Neil Junior heard the ruling during a court hearing Wednesday.

Police say he stabbed his father in the face and chest at their Stroud Township home in November.

His father and about a dozen other family members came to his hearing.

They support him and say that the stabbing is a private family matter.

Neil remains behind bars Wednesday night.
