SONESTOWN, SULLIVAN COUNTY- Aaron Kelly is on his way to capturing the hearts of America. He's already captured the respect of the people where he lives.

In a town of less than 1000 people, the support in Sonestown is overwhelming for the 16 year old is overwhelming. Friend, Dane Woodruff says, "I know a lot of my friends for the first time are watching American Idol. I've never watched it before but this year I have been, so its pretty cool seeing him there."

Humble, Nice, and Talented. Those words were heard over and over in Sonestown when we asked people to describe Aaron. American Idol does not permit us to talk to his family, but we spoke with his guitar teacher who's been instructing him for the past four years.

John Trallo said he was paid a visit -by his student recently and granted his request. Trallo said, "I wrote out songs and recorded guitar tracks so he can hear what they are supposed to sound like."

As Aaron practices on his own now for the next Idol competition, his teacher looks at a chair Aaron autographed just last week, as a reminder of how far the teen has come. Aaron's aunt who adopted him years ago, is by his side during the competition. We're told told she's the one who recognized his singing talent, and helped hone his musical skills, with encouragement.
