Williamsport, Lycoming County-

A popular fundraising event made its return in Williamsport Friday.

We stopped by as final preparations got underway for the 3rd Annual Soup and a Bowl Event at the Genetti Hotel.

Attendees enjoyed four delicious soups, along with bread, drinks, and dessert.

In addition, all the guests took home hand-crafted bowls made by local artists.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.

Williamsport Branch Director Jamie Jones said, “We’re facing layoffs and financial crises that no one could have anticipated. And so it’s more important now than ever that we have community support at fundraisers such as this.”

The non-profit food bank serves 35,000 people in 27 Pennsylvania counties each week.
