TRUCKSVILLE, Luzerne County – South Pioneer Avenue in Trucksville is back open hours after a one vehicle crash over night. Karen Adams is a neighbor, “I thought it was thunder and lightning out. The dog started barking. I heard people talking and saw flashing lights on the truck.” Kingston Township Police suspect 32-year old Sean Pietraccini of Dallas was drinking and driving when he crashed into several trees and 2 utility poles along South Pioneer Avenue early Thursday morning. His Chevy pickup truck landed in the landscaping of Karen Adams' property, barely missing her car. Adams spoke with WBRE News, "Actually, I though not again because there are accidents along the road. You sort of get used to it and you handle it." An ambulance took Sean Pietraccini to the hospital with minor bumps and bruises, after he was found at a nearby home on Johnson Street. Hours later, the utility company arrived to replace both utility poles and restore power to several homes. Trucksville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bill Eck said, “Two poles were sheared off, the transformer is down. Three houses are out of power and the individual removed himself from the vehicle." South Pioneer Avenue from Davis Street at St. Theresa’s Church to Sutton Road was shut down until after three p-m Thursday. Karen Adams though, won’t be making it into work at the Luzerne County Housing Authority, "No electricity, I can't get the car out because of the trees on the driveway and the poles being down." | | |
