So far no one has been hurt, but that of course is the big concern. The fires have been set in West Hazleton and nearby Hazle Township. The most recent incident was last night when flames ripped through this vacant home in the 200 block of West Green Street. The fire chief says someone set fires at two different locations inside the building. Those flames could have easily spread had it been a windy day.
About eight blocks away two storage sheds were torched. Those fires were set within the last week. The fire chief Bob Ward says, "Arsonists do their dirty deeds for a variety of reasons. There are several psychological profiles for arsonists. Some get excited by fires, some do it for the crime, others do it for insurance purposes".
