ASHLAND, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY- An Ashland police officer is in intensive care after being stabbed in the neck.
Officer Richard Haraschak was off-duty when he tried to break up a fight at the Turkey Hill on Centre Street in Ashland around 3:00 Sunday morning.
Police say 26-year-old Shawn Mulligan of Drums stabbed Haraschak in the neck and fled. He later turned himself in to state police.
Mulligan is being held on $250,000 bail and is facing a list of charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Ashland Police say Officer Haraschak is at St. Catherine’s Medical Center where he received 21 stitches and is still in ICU.
