SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- A stabbing victim in Scranton gets stitched-up then locked-up.
It happened Saturday afternoon at Valley View Terrace on Stafford Avenue. Police say 43-year-old John Layton showed-up at a neighbor's apartment with a stab wound in his chest asking to use the phone to call 9-1-1.
Officers worked the scene but couldn't find any clues. But they did find Layton was wanted for breaking into vending machines back in July. He was taken for treatment -- then taken to prison.
And another Scranton stabbing has police looking for three suspects after making one arrest. The attack happened Friday afternoon on Preston Place.
19-year-old Justin Strait was stabbed several times and knocked unconscious after he was struck in the head. Strait suffered a punctured lung, several stab wounds and a partially cut-off ear. He's expected to recover.
A 16-year-old suspect is locked up in a juvenile detention center. Police believe the 3 other suspects are also juveniles. | |
