HARRISBURG - Governor Ed Rendell signed the 2009-2010 budget Friday night, the 101st day Pennsylvania was without a budget.
The $27.8 billion dollar plan includes a $500 million dollar cut in spending.
"This budget is a good one. it's a realistic one," said Governor Rendell. "It avoids broad-based tax increases, and it cuts overall spending by half a billion dollars."
The governor adds it preserves much-needed funding for Pre-K Counts and other education programs.
But it also cuts human services funding by 17%. Look for that reaction story on Eyewitness News at 11 Saturday, as well as at pahomepage. com. | |
