CRANBERRY TWP., VENANGO COUNTY -- Trooper Paul Richey was shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute late Wednesday morning in western Pennsylvania.
State police say Richey and another trooper arrived at a home and were immediately shot at. Richey was taken to the hospital where he died.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, police are still trying to apprehend the suspect. You can get the latest on the situation from our sister station in Pittsburgh by .
The 40-year-old leaves behind a wife, a 9-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. Richey is the 93rd trooper to die in the line of duty.
In June of last year, Trooper Josh Miller of the Pittston area was shot and killed attempting to rescue a kidnapped boy in Monroe County.
