Two counties in our area have declared a State of Emergency due to heavy snow and road closures. People are being told to stay off the roads.

Heavy snow of one to two feet in Schuylkill County has stranded motorists and shut down major roadways like Interstate 81 from Hazleton south and Route 61 in much of Schuylkill County.

There are also reports of a lot of stuck vehicles in the Hazleton area.
