WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Luzerne County voters lined up early and ready to use the counties electronic voting systems.
Voters lined up and pick their candidate at Dr. Kistler Elementary School in Wilkes-Barre . Rita Lipinski of Wilkes-Barre says, "It's very exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing who's going to win."
Lipinski and other voters here could have a big say in who takes the Democratic Presidential bid. Paul Maher of Wilkes-Barre voted this morning. He hopes the state of Pennsylvania paves a path to Pennsylvania Avenue for Hillary Clinton. But, he's still happy to see the big voter turnout for the Democratic party. "It's been a long while since we had a build-up like this, a long while. We've got 2 good candidates and i think the people have decided with the issues in this country today that we need a change and we've got 2 good candidates,” says Maher.
Hillary and Obama signs were posted up on the lawn outside Kistler Elementary. But it's not just the two big candidates on the ballot. State races are also at stake, but the stakes of this presidential race has these voters buzzing. Trudy Mesko of Wilkes-Barre says, "I think it's so wonderful. It feels wonderful that I can be a part of it. I think we're making history here."
A Barack Obama supporter agrees. Alfonzo Walker of Wilkes-Barre says, "It's extremely important to me personally but it's also important for the nation. I feel at this time we need a definite change in the direction that our nation is going." | | |
