HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- People living in the Hazleton area have some answers and more questions about a proposed cargo airport.

They brought their concerns Tuesday night about a proposed cargo airport to Hazleton Area High School. The firm that studied the economic impact of the airport discussed its findings.

Consultants want to make sure carriers are on board with the project before breaking ground. While leaders are hopeful it will bring more jobs and opportunity to the area, some say the project should be grounded.

Carol Ann Palubinsky of Zion Grove said, "Anyone with common sense knows there are negatives. It’s more important than money."

The new state budget includes funding for the proposed airport, but Governor Ed Rendell has the final say on where the money goes.
