NORTHUMBERLAND, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY -- The Northumberland Borough Sewer Authority is swirling with controversy. Sources say money's missing, possibly tens of thousands of dollars.

People in the borough want answers. Sherry Metzler said, "It should definitely be investigated. They're working for the people. I don't think it should be hidden, there's too much stuff hidden in government today."

Tuesday night, borough councilwoman Cindy Lark resigned due to health reasons setting off a storm of speculation. Lark also works as the sewer authority secretary.

Published reports say an audit for the authority's finances is underway. Past that, details into a possible investigation are murky.

State police wouldn't confirm if there's investigation into the sewer authority. The sewer authority solicitor, well he didn't have much to say either. The sewer authority solicitor wouldn't confirm if Lark is still the sewer authority secretary.

Sources say Lark is ill and has been recovering at home. The sewer authority office was closed Wednesday when we the I-Team looked for more answers.

The next sewer authority meeting is March 22nd. It's open to the public
