SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- The snowstorm that rolled into Scranton Friday morning slowed traffic and was blamed for numerous fender-bender type accidents.

But many shoppers braved the slick roads to get their Christmas shopping done. An Feeney of Clarks Summit said she got out early in an attempt to beat the snow. She said she got her shopping done but had to make her way home just after the snow started to fall. Carol Fine of Waverly said she considers the snow a 'gift' at this time of the year.

The staff at Sno Mountain Ski Resort on Montage Mountain is happy to see the snow too. The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is one of the busiest for the ski industry.
