WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY -- The storm wreaked havoc with area mass transit systems. Many were forced to cut services or modify their schedules. Many people who depend on mass transit had no way to get around Wednesday.
The normally busy bus terminal on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre was empty. Some buses did get out early for commuters to New York City, but most others were cancelled or delayed.

Shahrooz Pourmonir of Martz Trailways said, "We have modified our schedules because of the snow storms to get people where they want to go. Other bus companies have canceled like Greyhound and Fullerton Trailways."
The Luzerne County Transit Authority, L. C.T. A., stopped their bus service at 1:30. Eyewitness News found some buses making their last pick-ups of the day.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport had most of its inbound and outbound flights canceled.

Most of the public transit systems hope to be back on track Thursday, but that remains to be seen as to how this snowstorm plays out. | |
