SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Vo-Tech classes will resume Monday at the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County.

Negotiators reached a tentative contract agreement Sunday afternoon -- ending the teachers strike.

The 3-dozen member CTC teaching staff first hit the picket lines Wednesday afternoon. The strike, mainly over salary, kept some 700-students from attending half-days at the center.

It took 12-hours of weekend negotiations before both sides reached a tentative deal. Rosemary Boland from the Scranton Federation of Teachers said, "People sat at the negotiating table as equals and were able to deal with each other as professionals and we were able to reach an agreement."

Boland says the union will vote to ratify the contract this week. CTC Administrative Director Vince Nallo says the sending school districts will vote at their respective school board meetings.

He hopes the contract will become final at a November 19th meeting.
