STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY - The doors are now open at Stroudsburg's newest restaurant, Liquid. "The food was great. The drinks were great. Great bar. Great atmosphere," said Dave Stewart of Stroudsburg. He and his family used to travel to dine at places like Liquid. He said, "[I've been looking forward to it quite a bit cause there's not any place around here like this."

Liquid specializes in Martinis like Carmel Covered Apple and Liquid Lemon but it's not just a bar. Co owner Bob Buff said it's "More of a morphing of a bar - restaurant - club into one."

Developers Troy Nauman and Bob Buff spent five years developing their restaurant plan. Nauman said, "To fill a need that we feel didn't exist before in Monroe County."

The Liquid menu features Tapas or small plates of food. Nauman said, "We found that a lot of people are driving out of our area for this type of a restaurant."

The owners hope they can keep those people - and their money in Monroe County. Nauman said, "Clearly with the economic environment it's challenging."

It may be a challenge bot Bob and Troy believe they have the recipe for success. Good food, special drinks and a unique atmosphere. Buff said, "We wouldn't have done this if we didn't think it would be successful."
