STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY -- Two families are homeless after a late night fire in the Poconos.
Fire broke out at a duplex home at Second and Garfield Streets in Stroudsburg just before midnight. Flames were spotted in the rear of the first floor on the Garfield side of the duplex.
Wendy Marsh and her two teenaged daughters were home when the fire started. Miranda Zachary said, "I looked in my old room and I saw fire and I told my mom and ran upstairs and got my sister."
"I was upstairs in my room and lucky my sister come upstairs and got me out or I would have been in the hospital, so I thank my sister so much for saving my life, said Brittany Zachary.
This is the second time the Marsh family escaped flames in their home. The first one was caused by a kitchen fire. | |
