STROUDSBURG - The Stroudsburg School District has passed a new dress code. It goes into effect next fall.

Chris Correnti said it just doesn't fit.

He announced, "No way! I am not wearing that. I am not wearing that!"

Chris checked out his fifth grade wardrobe choices at Sears in the Stroud Mall. He said he won't wear the dress pants and polo shirts.

"We're the boss of us, they can't do anything about it," he explained.

And his father agrees with him.

Marty Correnti said, "Well, if they force it to them, he may go to a different school district."

Others said the dress code is a great fit for their families. Melissa Foust said it will make it easier to get her three kids ready in the morning.

"They don't have to be picky and you don't have to keep up with the Jone's anymore," she explained.

She also expects to save a lot of money. She said, "I usually spend about $1,000 or more a year just to get them ready for school and this might be only a couple hundred dollars."

Sears is getting ready for thousands of families to buy the new school wear. The manager said they already had the right clothes in stock, just not enough of them.

Store Manager Ray Horston laughed, "Well we normally don't supply 4,000 of them."

So Horston convinced other Sears stores to send them extra clothes.

"Sears is building a dress code approved boutique. They've cleared out this area where the shopping carts used to go and also got rid of some office space right here - which is where that boutique will go."

"They can come in and shop just dress code type clothes," said Horston.

A place to shop whether or not you think the dress code idea fits.
